This post shows a bunch of the fun stuff we did in Timor. I have had some trouble with the computer today and my photos have completely jumbled as they loaded and some of the photos I intended to load were rejected. So I'm going to add captions to the photos and then try and load the other ones. I'll see how it goes :)
The boys loving the truck ride and looking forward to babi guling! (roasted pig)
Said pig being cooked!
Iced coffee - got us through many a work day! It became an institution.
Some of the students tying the wire together so it would stay in place when the concrete was poured.
So it starts! This was a major moment in Timor as it was the first time a concrete truck had ever been used to pour concrete. Until now it has been mixed by hand and poured using buckets and wheelbarrows. Such an exciting day! So many people came to watch.
Working past dark - it had to be done!
One of the funniest moments of my life. Watching Jade eat a banana! Who goes to Timor and doesn't eat bananas? Jade detests bananas but thought he better give it a go. Ed promised Jade KFC if he ate 4.
I can't do it! Jade actually said, I am scared of this banana!
All packed in, ready for a weekend visiting Mission Posts.
First we visited Yubas house. Yuba works at New Hope and has recently graduated from college. This was a celebration of her graduation.
We then visited the village where Yanto is from. I first met Yanto on my trip in 2009. Yanto also recently completed his degree at the Theological College. During this visit, the official graduation was held. A very special day! Such an honour to be part of it.
And now, I am going to try loading some more photos....!
